According to Xinhua Net report, on October 8, 10:30am local, Ms. Catharine Drew Gilpin Faust, President of Harvard University, met the visiting Prof. Hui Ka Yan, Member of the CPPCC Standing Committee and Chairman of Evergrande Group, and his entourage in the Massachusetts Hall, where the two sides had in-depth exchange and talks.

President Faust extended her warm welcome to Prof. Hui Ka Yan for his visit and introduced to him the general aspect and latest development of Harvard University. She said Evergrande is a most powerful leading enterprise in China as well as a world known enterprise. It complies with the criteria by which Harvard selects her international strategic partners. Harvard is willing to discuss with Evergrande on cooperation. Prof. Hui Ka Yan introduced Evergrande’s development. He said Harvard is the No. 1 famous university and the forefront of the latest technology in the world.

Evergrande hopes to cooperate with Harvard to sharpen its world competitive edge. The two sides then had in-depth discussions on building green residences and reached consensus on cooperation.

After the meeting, Harvard Vice-president Alan Garber treated Evergrande guests with lunch. Harvard Vice-president, Deputy Dean, Director of International Affairs and other Harvard top officials, Tenured Professor Shing-Tung Yau and other reputed professors, Wang Chuan, Executive Vice-President of Evergrande, Zou Tian, Deputy General Manager of Evergrande Future Business Group and other management staff were present at the meeting and lunch.

The day before the meeting, Prof. Hui Ka Yan and his entourage had a tour on the Harvard campus and were invited to a welcoming dinner jointly hosted by the deans and famous professors from Harvard Graduate School of Design, Harvard Business School, Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and Harvard Medical School.
